Blogging Challenge – Day 3 @TeachThought is all about continuous improvement.
As someone who works with Instructional Technology, I am always looking for ways to stretch and grow while monitoring success in our projects along the way. This summer at our Liberty LEADS Conference, George Couros pushed bloggers to think about posting their evaluation standards on their blog and then creating pages that demonstrate exemplars in meeting these standards. The picture to the right is an example of how Couros shares his work in these standards. His blog is titled “The Principal of Change“.
Honestly, I think this approach is brilliant as it requires a level of transparency while also building a portfolio of experiences that demonstrate learning in each standard.
This is an approach that I would like to develop on my blog using the ISTE Standards-C.
ISTE Standards (formerly the NETS) for Coaches (ISTE Standards•C) are the standards for evaluating the skills and knowledge that education coaches need to guide and support teachers in an increasingly connected and global society.
The standards include:
- Visionary leadership
- Teaching, learning, and assessments
- Digital age learning environments
- Professional development and program evaluation
- Digital citizenship
- Content knowledge and professional growth
These standards push me to continuously learn and provides focus as we build capacity as a growing digital district.
